Keith Arthur: match maker

The main topic of conversation this week will be match angling. Keith will be joined by Alex Bones, one of the best young match-men on the scene and the winner of the prestigious 'Midland Angler of the Year' title in 2006.

Alex is an expert on methods that 'cross over' between carp and match fishing and he'll be passing on some great advice for the all-rounder as well as those who concentrate on the commercial fisheries.

If you've got a question for Keith or Alex please send it in via an e-mail to tightlines@skysports.com. Messages can't be received in the bothy so you must get them in before Friday.

You can see another top match angler in action as we spend a session on the bank with Steve Ringer. Whether you want to target silver fish or carp on the commercials, the former Fish'O'Mania champion demonstrates some great tactics to help you get the most out of your swim during the winter months.

Keith will also be continuing his guide to the wide range of waggler floats that are available. This time he explains the intricacies of the 'straight waggler' - a great method for holding the bait still on the bottom when water has any tow or wind blowing on it. There's also a great tip for when using a plummet to gauge depth.

And if you're hoping for a session on the bank yourself this weekend, Keith will have his weekly look at the conditions you might encounter. He'll have details on a selection of great venues up and down the country with information on the best baits and tactics to use, whatever you're preferred waters.

Keith will have a rather special guest alongside him on Tight Lines next week. Martin Salter, Labour MP for Reading West, is both a passionate angler and a passionate campaigner on angling issues and is chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on angling. No doubt, Keith and Martin will be engaging in some serious debate, including the topic of angling unity.

Please keep the questions, and your photos for the 'Young Angler of the Month' competition, coming in to tightlines@skysports.com.
