Tubes' Diary
The big move
I feel like jerk chicken tonight
Last updated: 17th September 2008
I started working at Soccer AM when I was 15. I came to do work experience and I guess I made really good teas because they kept me around!

Quotes of the week
After months and months of careful preparation I finally moved into my new place at the weekend.
People say that moving home is one of the most stressful things you can do, but this one couldn't really have gone any smoother.
I'm loving the new area I'm in, just south of the river and I went out and celebrated in style on Saturday with my mates Deano and Mike Dufour.
Mike's really got me into jerk chicken as well! I can't get enough of the stuff at the moment and there's a couple of really good places near where I live so I can see myself eating out a lot!
My commute to work is brilliant too. I can't believe how cheap it is! The train I've been getting on gets me to work in about half an hour and it only costs £2.10 which I still don't quite understand.
At first I thought I must have bought a child ticket - in fact maybe I have been! I should probably double check that...
On Sunday I went to Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea against Spurs, but I think it's fair to say they just weren't on form.
But all the real action this week took place off the pitch, because the close of the transfer window was brilliant.
It was a bit like a soap opera with everything that was going on and then Man City came in and blew everyone out of the water!
I couldn't believe they signed Robinho because he looked for all the world as though he was on his way to Chelsea, but there were so many twists and turns that night that by the end of it nothing would have surprised me.
This Sunday I'll be heading to Wembley Stadium for Soccer Aid. Alastair Campbell was on the show on Saturday and he was telling us how much he was looking forward to be playing in it.
If I'm honest I would love to be out there as well, just so I could say that I was on the same pitch as Gianfranco Zola! The guys a complete legend and a hero of mine... hopefully I'll get to throw the ball back to him!

Tubes answers your questions...
Hi Tubes! I know I'm only supposed to ask you one question, but you don't often get the chance to talk to an idol of your stature every day! What I want to know is how did you get the job at Soccer AM? What have you done in the past and how did you get into the stuff that you are doing now? Cheers... by the way, is your job perfect? Haha.
Eddy Stagg
TUBES REPLIES: I started working at Soccer AM when I was 15. I came to do work experience and I guess I made really good teas because they kept me around! I came in every Saturday for four years and worked for free and then eventually got made permanent.
Before that I had worked as a cleaner and a paper boy! But it really is the perfect job and I'd happily work for free for another four years because that's how much I enjoy it. Hopefully my bosses want read that last bit...
Tuuuuuubes... you're a legend!!! You're a great guy and I love you but what I want to know is if you could interview any football legend from the last century, who would it be and what would you ask them?
Noreen Moore
TUBES REPLIES: I would love to interview Nigel Winterburn so I could find out what was going through his head when he stepped up to Paolo Di Canio after the Italian had pushed over a ref. And does he still cringe when he looks back at the footage and sees himself flinch when Di Canio goes for him!
Your name is Tubes you drink a lot of booze then you go oooooooooze you have man Boobs oh no one can cage my lyrics. You are my hero and I am 12 what I want to know is when you were my age what did you want to be?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alex Frorath-Howes
TUBES REPLIES:I think I probably wanted to be 13! No, like most kids I still wanted to be a footballer but by the age of 14 I knew I wasn't going to cut the mustard.
TUBESSSSS! Best New Band Off 2008? Safe!?
Ross Pearce.
TUBES REPLIES:The Metros, without a doubt. They were used on the show last week for the Premier League goals wrap and I'm a massive fan.
You are mates with Rocket, your raps are so electrifying you plug them in a socket, you're a great guy and I love you and what I want to know is what is your funniest football moment ever?
Sam Barnes
TUBES REPLIES: Probably watching Slavisa Jokanovic trying to play football for Chelsea! He was shocking and it's no coincidence that he got the nickname The Joke!
