Swann: Wickets and runs
NatWest Pro40 - Division One
Lord's
Nottinghamshire Outlaws 180 v Middlesex Crusaders 161
Nottinghamshire beat Middlesex by 19 runs
Middlesex slumped to the foot of the Pro40 Division One table after a 19-run defeat to Nottinghamshire at Lord's.
The Twenty20 champions were skittled out for 161 with Graeme Swann taking three for 27 despite a solid effort from Eoin Morgan.
The visitors had been eyeing a bigger target than their eventual 180 when Will Jefferson and Swann added 57 for the first wicket.
But Jefferson was run out by Dawid Malan for 22 and Mark Wagh perished in the next over playing half forward to Tim Murtagh.
Swann was next to go, playing all round a straight one from Murtagh having made 33, and Samit Patel did not last long before edging Dirk Nannes behind.
The wickets continued to fall at regular intervals - Ashwell Prince holing out at long-on off Shaun Udal for 25, but Chris Read and Bilal Shafayat steadied the ship with a stand of 49.
But both fell in quick succession, Tyron Henderson having Read caught at long leg for 21, and Shafayat for 31 when looping a catch to Murtagh at mid-on off Nannes.
Andre Adams and Charlie Shreck went in the last over looking for quick runs, but the Middlesex reply was soon stutturing.
Andrew Strauss appeared to be beaten for pace by adams and fellow opener Ed Joyce was bowled by a Shreck yorker to leave the hosts 33-2.
Morgan added 39 with Owais Shah for the third wicket before Mark Ealham snared Shah, and Morgan also fell to the veteran all-rounder who deceived him with a trademark slower ball.
The dangerous Malan fell in Swann's first over when attempting to sweep, and with 51 needed off the final 10 overs Patel removed Henderson, who had just lofted two mighty sixes.
Patel crucially got Ben Scott for 22 and Swann took a smart return catch to remove Udal before Murtagh and Nannes capitulated tamely.
